I think that a soul does not really seek Enlightenment.
They seek Freedom..
Freedom turns out to be Enlightenment..
It is the Freedom from the desires of the ego..
Once, you have dropped all of the desires of the ego,
The only thing left is Enlightenment..
It is that simple and that difficult..
Be the "Watcher of the Mind"..
Watch the thoughts that flow through the mind and reject those that are from the ego..
You will eventually find that there are no more egoic desires..
When you finally can surrender the desire for life and egoic consciousness,
You are Free...
