THE ABILITY TO REVERE IS ENABLED BY LOVE by Nademus

The subject of ego and survival elicits a visceral response, because
you innately understand that ego, in terms of survival, is uniquely
qualified to impart an impeccable performance. Having an ego under
those circumstances ensures survival, which is an embedded drive
within you all. I might add that one could easily, deeply respect
one's ego for this facet of life. However, ego being ego, it never
stops there. It attempts to demand allegiance on all levels of your
experience, so much so that it consumes thought and, in such
consumption, becomes so familiar as to literally render a sort of
numbness to thought that then ceases to question "who is in charge of
whom." In other words, you forget who you are because of the
overriding influence of ego-yours and everyone else's. At this point,
I might add the reminder that who you are is creative God, and ego
would have you forget this for its own survival. Ego veils truth, loud
enough and long enough for you to assume that its prominence in your
thought system reflects its authority. This, essentially, demeans your
own self-authority, but through allegiance to ego, you fail to realize
this.

Returning to the absence of trust or honoring of yourself as the
trigger for determining challenge in finding reverence compatible with
your thought systems, I would suggest that ego has had a huge hand in
this scenario. From the basic sense, ego is reflective of fear, and
fear is a powerful motivator. The most debilitating point of fear is
that it literally stops you in your tracks and dictates action, or
nonaction, based on illusion. Yes, certainly, survival fears (such as
fear of heights or fear of fire) are considered appropriate fears to
the maintenance of your body. Indeed, that is so.

However, your body-which is ego's greatest tool to imprison your
mind-is not who you are. Who you are is love, and love knows no
limitation, knows no fear. Love expresses itself through inclusiveness
of all life and recognizes itself as one with All That Is. Ego sees
only separation, the limitations of thought that feed it through
prolonged focus by those whose alignment does not understand
reverence. Now, you might question whether you cannot also revere ego.
In fact, it is logical to assume that if so much focus and alignment
is offered to the conditions of ego that that would indeed translate
into reverence for it. To that question, I would offer a resounding "no!"

Why? Because the ability to revere is enabled through love. In other
words, you must connect with love to be able to see the splendor that
reveals the object of reverence. Ego, through its penchant for
separation, simply would confront, struggle or partake in battle to
retain the focus for exclusion: Ego demands allegiance. It demands
focus, and it applies its dark magic to essentially "trick" you into
believing in it with the full force of your creativity. It sweeps your
thoughts, your focus and consequent alignment back and forth on the
polarity pole, offering to you the most limited of perspectives, but
with compelling arguments for this allegiance if you are, indeed,
entrenched within ego and forgetful of your true nature.
