The Tao...

"When wise people hear the Tao,
they practice it diligently.

When ordinary people hear the Tao,
they waver between belief and doubt.

When foolish people hear the Tao,
they laugh boisterously at it.

If such people did not do this,
then the Tao would not be the Tao."
