subject and object...

This awareness without subject or object must be discovered. This is your own awareness, and it is called freedom from everything.

I arises and behaves as if it is awareness. Ego and the world arise, and the ego separates itself from the Self and calls itself self-sufficient. All

trouble arises from this. This ego arises from awareness and behaves as if it is separate from awareness. [laughs]

It takes responsibility on its shoulders and gives no peace, no happiness, no joy. Instead, you search for happiness in object after object in time. All these notions arise from the wrong notion of I.

When you search for this I, it disappears, leaving pure awareness. Not "I am aware," nor awareness of any object. No subject. No object. No day and no night. No duality. No opposites. This is ultimate knowledge. Without this, everyone is creating samsara. To stay here is to help everyone.

This must be realized before helping anyone else. This knowledge is compassion. Nothing more than this. It cannot be done by doing anything, reading anything, or practicing anything. It is whatever it has been. This knowledge is ultimate knowledge. Not by any doing. If you do anything, it will be called a gain or attainment by some process. Any practice will be physical or mental. This does not depend on any mind or any body. Anything that rises from here, it is that!

This knowledge reveals by itself. It is always here—omnipresent, omniscient, eternal peace—everybody's Self-nature. It is here, and you are putting your head someplace else. Therefore, I say, "Keep quiet" Let it reveal itself to itself. It doesn't need any help. It is self-effulgent. It shines by its own light. It doesn't need anybody's candle...
