The source of all well-being is in being (well + being). It is not found in
"things". The Sanskrit phrase Sat-Chit-Ananda expresses this: "Sat", Being/Truth
is "Chit", Consciousness, and "Ananda", bliss. To experience this, just be
without referencing any thoughts. Add nothing after the I AM. Just BE!
There is great deal of wisdom in the etymology of English words. Take the word
"awareness". It comes from the West Germanic root "gewahr", and it means to
"take care of", to be observant, attentive, cautious, mindful etc. The English
word "wares", as in "selling his wares", i.e. goods, also has the same Germanic
root, "gewahr".
When the words "ware" and "a-ware" are taken to the same root, "gewahr", it
presents the suggestive idea that only awareness delivers the "goods" that we
seek in objects, in commodities, in gadgets, in thoughts, feelings and
sensations. The happiness and peace we seek in the wares of the marketplace
cannot be found in them, but only in awareness. Fall in love with awareness!
Taste the sweetness (ananda) that the sages of all religions have talked about!
