"A truly spiritual teacher finds it easier to see a high
truth than to explain it to lower minds. This is because
the explanatory words used by the teacher have multiple
meanings to the pupil based on the pupil's associations
and preferences connected with the words. For example,
the word 'progress' could be unknowingly interpreted by
the pupil as meaning progress in being praised for steady
attendance in class. The explanation of all this by the
teacher to the student will also be distorted by the student.
If the teacher uses the word 'association ,' the pupil's mind
could actually send up a picture of a business association.
This is the interference of a human idea that prevents divine
perception."
