To be free is to live, as far as possible, unconditioned by the past and unburdened by its memories.

Equally is it to reject the future, to be without its anticipations, its hopes and its fears.

But all this is only possible if one lives in the timeless Present,

or what Krishnamurti calls "from moment to moment" and (Meister) Eckhart "the eternal Now."
