A message from barclay littlewood...

Coming off FB for a while. To anyone that needs any "spiritual" guidance or wants to get in touch feel free to email me at barclaylittlewood@...

A message for myself, as well as all my spiritual friends on here or those with an interest follows... to the rest of you, please don't bother reading you'll only bore yourself or think me a crazed mad man! Haha If you want to read and debate, keep it to yourself, I have no interest in wasting time on words. If you have sincere questions, feel free.

I want to leave with a few points -

First off my state is one of 99% continual bliss, moving to a deep inward seeing of peace. By and large it is effortless, occasionally my mind resurfaces. At times increasingly I rest in the state where the observer, the observing and observed are the same, not as ecstatic as bliss, and not personal at all, but very peaceful, "merged".

I have no faith or belief, nor am I adverse to them. Simply know they are not required to experience peace, nor do they hinder it.

1) Inner peace and perfection are deep within you, they are your birth right, but they must be worked for to be obtained. Trust me on that, I have nothing to gain from you telling you it, no money to make, but it is the truth. Most of what we are told to believe in this world is for the benefit of someone else. Anyone promising you instant enlightenment is highly mistaken. The theory/method however is easy and can be understood instantly. Making the changes to your brain/mind takes hours and hours and hours. That is a fact. All your practice is changing the neurological structures of your mind, evolving you. To reach inner peace is a great way to help others around you without directly doing anything for them. The more people take this journey of inner peace up, the more peace enters the world. In that sense it is one part of the answer to world peace.

2) The method I use, one of many, is to turn the mind inwards, watch the mind, witness it, look at it, focus as that which is unmoved by all appearances both outside and within. Something is there no matter what you think, feel, perceive. Stay with that. Over time happens on its own, silently. Could be poorly explained as I I, or silent silently silencing. I wish there was more to it, something magical or special to get but there isn't. Its about hard work. If you're lucky the cord of absorption in the mind will be cut and you'll find the euphoria of the "self" over time. (The self is what we all are.) You will be cleansed of all impurity, and the mind is impurity itself. You can drop the fascination with the words of anyone, use them minimally as and when required, really you just need your efforts and a desire to achieve the pristine state, a desire that is stronger than the desire to live. Almost no one has that burning desire, and 99.9% of you are doomed to failure before you begin, because you have not suffered enough to want out.

3) All the books in the world or teachers, won't get you there because they are outwardly sensory objects, and fascination with them, is the opposite of what you need. They all float in and out of your awareness, focus on that awareness rather than the content. They can help a little, but what you really need to do is turn the mind inwards. You don't need a complex head full of spiritual jargon, you need no more than 10 words, but likely more than 10,000 hours practice. This is a life time game, if you want nice states when in a room then practice meditating in a room, but don't be surprised when the peace in the rest of your life does't match up. Life has to become your meditation. Environment does cause challenges, in in that respect I am very lucky, but no matter where you are, you are there to practice.

4) You can't tell if anyone is enlightened it being an inward state, though you may sense something in their presence. I was far more immersed in the self as a drunk womanising party animal not even talking abut it, then I was 12 months before when I was reading and writing books, talking the talk of spirituality and helping others on FB. Talking the talk of enlightenment etc. neither means you have it or don't, and nor does not talking the talk either. People can appear to be downright nasty, or downright lovely, and you will likely still have no clue whether they are the real deal or not. They may be rich, poor, good listeners, funny, boring, sexy, straight, gay, anything. Some absolutely horrifically terrible people (in the relative sense) are self realised. Whilst the state has its own intangible morality and freedom, it can corrupt. In the words of Charles Manson "If all is one, nothing is wrong." So keep the ethics in place. I assure you, the Universe/life/you prefers peace, take a look around, you don't see many people going on courses,or taking paths to feel more fear, or suffer more.

5) When resting in the absolute, all "outside" is equal. The absolute it is all as well as nothing. It is good, evil, both and neither. It is duality, non duality, and neither as well as both. It is ego, not ego and both and neither. It is choice, not choice. There is nothing it is, and nothing it is not. it is ethics and not ethics and both. There is no one else to change, and no reason to change it, yet many others to change, and all reasons to change them. These apparent contradictory terms are the absolute - which by its very definition is everything and nothing, definable and undefinable. It is impossible to point to anything which it is not, yet also possible. lol The absolute reality. Which is so very obvious, yet hidden until you experience it. The light or jewel of consciousness of the self once experienced within, is experienced in all, as long as the mind is kept inwards and not allowed to do its dirty work of hate, judgment, inequality, malice etc. Focus inwards and the rest will take care of itself. Inward peace moves outward, naturally.

6) You will get it all and think yourself enlightened many times before you actually are. It is an experience as real as any other, not something you can get by understanding alone. When you do achieve it, you actually go back to being a lot like your old self in many ways, but totally different at the same time. There will be a continuity in your state, deep peace, and it will arise effortlessly. You don't give a damn whether people believe you or not, all you can know is that you know, or don't know. : )

7) Before this final dawn, be careful, because careless abandon is seen just the same as care. Once out the other side, you are really qualified for the first time to make a choice between doing good and evil rather than an automated, conditioned, reactionary, selfish, egotistical, fearful response which drives a lot of humanity in their actions. Rest assured what you do to others, you do to yourself. Looking back you will see the difference between suffering and peace. The choice should be obvious. This may at times involve actions that seem to some to be unkind in the short term, but in the end teach that respect and kindness to others is the highest way.

8) Focusing on what stayed constant throughout what I just said, is far more important than anything I just said. If you are not sure what that was, it is likely because absorption in the temporary - thoughts, emotions, perceptions obscured it. Focus on being the witness of the temporary, and the temporary will clear away over time to reveal the ever present.

Peace and love always,

Barcs
