It is certainly better to remove faults and remedy weaknesses than to leave them as they are.

But it is not enough to improve, refine, ennoble, and even spiritualize the ego.

For all such activity takes place under the illusion that the ego possesses reality.

This illusion needs to be eliminated, not merely changed for another one.
