Thoughts about presence...

Thoughts are thoughts. They cannot reveal the truth of who you are. You are not a thought. You are the presence in which thoughts arise. But even that last sentence is a thought. It is merely pointing to presence. It is tempting to read such a pointer and forget that the pointer itself is just another thought, no matter how clear it is.

Every sentence in these reflections is a thought. The words are merely pointing to the awakeness that is your true nature in this moment. The mind hears these pointers repeated often and tends to mistake the words for that to which they are pointing. Just remember that the grandest and clearer pointers to presence are still just thoughts.

They come and go like all thoughts do. Don’t mistake them for the truth. Just notice that they arise and fall in presence.

You cannot know what you are through thoughts. You can only know that you are. This knowing is not intellectual, philosophical, or mental. This knowing is the direct experience that you are the presence through which words pointing to presence appear and disappear.
