Consciousness...

Consciousness really does exist,

whereas the things which it makes known are present

only when they are perceived, felt, heard, or otherwise sensed by one or more of the five reporting agents.

This consciousness is in itself always the same, unvarying,

the one thing in us in which thoughts and bodies make their appearance

and from which they also vanish.
