Marcus Aurelius...

Life on the world scene was likened by Marcus Aurelius not only to a dream, but even to a delirium!

Yet he was a man of much practical experience, a victorious soldier and a Roman emperor.

And where the Greek poet Pindar and the Greek playwright Aristophanes used dream only as a metaphor to describe this physical life of ours, Plotinus used it as an actuality.
